Assessment-driven targets

Teachers make effective use of summative and formative assessment methods as part of the Graduated Approach ‘Assess-Plan-Do-Review’ to set appropriate learning targets and monitor progress towards these over time.

Intervention teacher responsibility

Where interventions involve time away from the main class teaching, the teacher retains responsibility for the child or young person and ensures they provide direct teaching input wherever practicable.

Teachers work closely with TAs

Where available, our teachers work closely with teaching assistants to assess the impact of interventions and inform subsequent planning.
